3/18/2025 - DEFINITION: What constitutes a "Service Unit" in Brushy Creek MUD
CALCULATION OF SERVICE UNITS FOR LAND MANAGEMENT AND PARK MAINTENANCE FEE, AND FOR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND HAZARD MITIGATION FEE:
For purposes of calculating the Land Management and Park Maintenance Fee and Emergency Management and Hazard Mitigation Fee, a "Service Unit" shall be defined as follows:
- each metered single-family residential service connection;
- each separately metered residential dwelling unit in a duplex, triplex, apartment house, condominium, or other residential housing establishment occupied primarily for non-transient use; and
- each residential dwelling unit in a master-metered apartment house, master-metered condominium (whether owned or rented), or other master-metered residential property.
Set forth below are examples for the calculation of Service Units for different property types:
- A single-family residence with one meter (service connection) will be allocated one (1) Service Unit.
- A commercial establishment with one meter (service connection) will be allocated one (1) Service Unit.
- A duplex with one meter (service connection) to the District's water system will be allocated two (2) Service Units.
- For a duplex with two separate meters (service connections) to the District's water system, the account holder for each duplex unit shall be allocated one (1) Service Unit.
- For a multi-family apartment with one metered connection to the District's water system with 50 individual apartment units, the account holder will be allocated 50 Service Units.
- For a multi-family apartment with 50 individual apartment units each of which has a meter and is a separate water service account holder, each apartment unit (customer) will be allocated one (1) Service Unit.
Notes:
1. The Land Management and Park Maintenance Fee, and Emergency Management and Hazard Mitigation Fee, are not applicable to commercial, industrial and other non-residential service connections. The classification of property as residential or non-residential shall be made according to the property tax classification by the Williamson County Appraisal District.
2. A separate irrigation meter or fire meter for a residential service account shall not modify the calculation of Service Units for the account.
